Scarecrow Festival

scarecrow festival

The Urchfont Scarecrow Festival runs every early May bank holiday. The organisers and Urchfont Parish residents pull out all the stops to make it the most successful and well-attended scarecrow festival in the UK.

Here are some of the reasons why:

THERE’S LOTS TO DO AND SEE

Embark on the scarecrow trail through the charming Urchfont village as you unravel clues. Your little ones can join in the fun with a children’s quiz featuring picture clues to decode at each scarecrow spot.

A FUN, LIVELY ATMOSPHERE

Enjoy mouthwatering, locally crafted burgers and sausages, indulge in delectable homemade cakes and a refreshing cup of tea; or satisfy your thirst with locally brewed real ales and ciders at the village pond.

IT’S COMMUNITY RUN

The Festival committee and the Urchfont Parish community work together to create scarecrows, bake cakes, oversee parking, cook on the barbecue, serve drinks, and more.

IT SUPPORTS LOCAL CAUSES.

Profits are dedicated to supporting good causes in the Parish, and a substantial annual contribution is also made to Wiltshire & Bath Air Ambulance and Devizes Opendoors.

There is a dedicated separate website with all the information kept up to date for residents and visitors. Please go to www.urchfontscarecrows.co.uk to find out more.
