Jackie moved to Urchfont with her husband David in 2020. She joined Urchfont Parish Council in March 2024 and became Lead of Planning in May 2024 and as a part of that role she also became a member of UPC’s Neighbourhood Plan Working Group.
Jackie says, “taking on Planning and joining the Working Group has meant that I have had to learn a lot of new things, which is most definitely an ongoing process. This has only been made possible through the help and support from my fellow Councillors, for which I am very grateful.” Jackie goes on to say that; “I value honesty, integrity and fairness above all things and will always keep those values very much at the forefront in all that I do. I very much enjoy my position on the Parish Council and the opportunities that it has afforded me to get involved with my local community. I would actively encourage people to come along to our meetings and see what we do and maybe even consider joining us.”
